很累……

1

A better example of ethics and moral impact

On the just finished “Professional Practice in Computer Science” class, my instructor shared us a better example of the difference between ethics and moral.

On the yesterday’s CBC News, he heard that a Manitoba lesbian couple was rejected by a family doctor from Egypt for religious reasons. This matter happens in Winnipeg, the city I’m living in. It is so near for me to feel such a news.

Are we over worrying about GNR?

As I told you before, for finishing my assignment of the “Computer Ethics” course, I’m keeping reading and thinking about Bill Joy’s article “Why the future doesn’t need us“. This article is really thought-provoking. Today, I get confusing about how critical is the spreading of genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics (GNR).

This post a a Chinese translation of Guido van Rossums’s article “Personal History – part 2, CNRI and beyond” on his blog named “The History of Python”.

CNRI(the Corporation for National Research Initiatives,国家研究研发公司)的工作。

Should We Be Needed In the Future?

For finishing my assignment of the “computer ethics” course, I’m reading Bill Joy’s great article “Why the future doesn’t need us“. In this article, Joy talked about a situation that, human beings may be displaced by robotics, along with the growth of GNR (genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics) technologies.

How To Build One Never Crash Machine

My instructor assigned me some articles to read and some videos to watch about computer ethics. One of the video is Kevin Kelly on the next 5000 days change of our web at EG 2007 Conference in Los Angeles, California.

At the beginning of Kelly’s speech, he said we will have only one machine exists in our world. All of personal devices, such as computer, cell phone, etc., are just the terminals of that machine. The machine is more reliable than we have ever met. It never crash. And I suddenly thought something other than his topic about a never crashing machine.
